The church is home to the internationally acclaimed choir, Gloriæ Dei Cantores (“Singers to the Glory of God”), who sing in Choral Eucharist and Evensong services throughout the year. The choir also presents a year-round concert series at the Church of the Transfiguration, frequently collaborating with guest soloists and orchestras. Their repertoire, spanning all periods and styles from Gregorian chant to 21st century works, illuminates choral treasures from rich cultural traditions across the globe.
The organists in residence at the Church of the Transfiguration, Dr. James Jordan and Dr. David Chalmers, present a year-round series of concerts on the landmark E.M. Skinner organ.
The Gabriel V resident brass ensemble performs in concert and in worship services, often collaborating with the resident organists.
Transfiguration Organ Concert

Organists offer a Transfiguration organ concert featuring works by Bach, Vierne, and Sowerby. The concert will be performed on the E.M. Skinner Organ by Dr. James Jordan and Dr. David Chalmers, graduates of the Eastman School of Music, and artists-in-residence at the Church of The Transfiguration, Rock Harbor, Orleans. This powerful instrument restored by Nelson Barden of Boston, is comprised of parts of seventeen different E.M. Skinner organs, and is the only one in the world with its particular surround-sound configuration.

The Pilgrim’s Progress: An Opera by Ralph Vaughan Williams
Gloriæ Dei Cantores and Elements Theatre Company present Ralph Vaughan Williams’s opera, The Pilgrim’s Progress, fully staged with orchestra and guest soloists at the Church of the Transfiguration, Orleans, MA. For the first time in twelve years, the production is returning to a New England stage. The opera will draw an international audience into a timeless story portraying the universal journey of humanity’s search for spiritual redemption.
The Pilgrim’s Progress is the featured event of an international symposium on Arts and Ecumenism commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Sponsored in part by the Vaughan Williams Charitable Trust of London, it will be the first fully-staged performance of the opera worldwide since performed in London in 2012.
