Music has always been integral to the worship at the Church of the Transfiguration, and over the years a wealth of musical expressions has emerged.
The church is home to the internationally acclaimed choir, Gloriæ Dei Cantores (“Singers to the Glory of God”), who sing in Choral Eucharist and Evensong services throughout the year. The choir also presents a year-round concert series at the Church of the Transfiguration, frequently collaborating with guest soloists and orchestras. Their repertoire, spanning all periods and styles from Gregorian chant to 21st-century works, illuminates choral treasures from rich cultural traditions across the globe. The organists in residence at the Church of the Transfiguration, Dr. James Jordan and Dr. David Chalmers, as well as Guest Organists, present a year-round series of concerts on the landmark E.M. Skinner organ.
The Gabriel V resident brass ensemble performs in concert and in worship services, often collaborating with the resident organists.
Nathan Laube, world-renowned concert organist, Grammy award-winning artist, and Assistant Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music, will perform on the “overwhelmingly breathtaking” E.M. Skinner Organ at the Church of the Transfiguration, Cape Cod, MA on Sunday, October 14 at 3:30pm.
